The Feast of the Holy Trinity is one of the later additions to the festivals of the church year.
A rubric in The Lutheran Liturgy prescribes: "On Trinity sunday, the Athanasian Creed may be used after the Gradual." However, the Nicene Creed is still used in its proper place at Mass.
On this Sunday it is also proper to pray the Athanasian Creed as one of the Psalms at Matins.
